Speech by Out-gone Head Prefect, Miss Victoria Nyameyie Boateng

The Board Chairman,Management, representatives of the Parent-Teacher Association,Headmaster,Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff,Fellow students,Ladies and Gentlemen. It is my pleasure to address this august gathering as the Out-gpoing Head Prefect of our great School. Our deepest fear is not that we areinadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measures. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us and we make our light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.We thank God the almighty for how far He has brought us. We the prefecs of the 20116/17 Academic year deem it a great honour to be given this platform on this august ocassion. With discipline, which has been our priority and bedrock for academic excellence, tdiscipline in the school has been taken to a higher height. We cannot talk about academic work without expressing gratitute to the teaching staff for their tireless efforts towards teaching and learning, formation of clubs and societies like Mathematics and Science Club, Writers' and Debaters' Club , just to mention a few, have also intheir own special way of projecting the name and image of great Calvary Hillcrest Schools. It is said, " One cannot polish gem without friction." We passed through ups and downs but thanks to the Almighty God for seeing us through.. We hope and believe that the good Lord will continue to carry us to the end.Headmaster, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, Students, Ladies and Gentlemen, Martin Luther King Junior once said " If a man is called to be a steet sweeper, he should sweep streets een as Michelangelo painted, Beethoven composed music or Shakespear wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all host of Heaven and Erath will pause and say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well." Teachers, I will plead with you to help the 'unwilling to do' students excel in their performance and achieve their target dreams. I will again appeal that the stock of books in the School Library should be increased and our computer laboratory equipped with more computers. Sports equipments and facilities like jerseys, athletics spikes, football boots, handball and volleyball courts under construction should be hastened. With these, our academic and sports performances would improve.May the Almighty God help you so that you can help the school.Long live Africa!Long live Ghana !!Long live Calvary Hillcrest Schools!!!Thank you
